Summary

To assist groundworkers and site supervisors with general groundworks activities, learning the skills required to carry out tasks safely and correctly in line with drawings and specifications.

What we're looking for:

• Willingness to learn and develop within the role
• Good work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good timekeeping and reliability
• Basic understanding of construction (desirable but not essential)
• Must hold a valid driving licence or be able to reliably travel to site independently

What you'll do at work

• Assist with excavation, drainage, and foundation works
• Assist with concrete works, including pouring, levelling, and finishing
• Help with laying pipes, ducts, and services
• Assist with patio and footpath paving
• Assist with block paving and kerbing works
• Carry out basic manual tasks such as digging, levelling, and backfilling
• Use hand tools and small plant under supervision
• Maintain a clean and safe working area
• Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced operatives
• Comply with all site health and safety procedures

Summary

To assist the site engineer with setting out works on construction projects, ensuring works are carried out in the correct position and level in accordance with drawings and specifications.

What we're looking for:

• Willingness to learn and develop within the role
• Basic understanding of construction or engineering (desirable)
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good timekeeping and reliability
• Must hold a valid driving licence or be able to reliably travel to site independently

What you'll do at work

• Assist with setting out using tapes, levels, and surveying equipment
• Help establish and maintain site control points
• Read and understand basic construction drawings
• Mark out positions for groundworks, drainage, and foundations
• Support checks on line, level, and measurements
• Keep records of setting out activities where required
• Assist with maintaining and caring for surveying equipment
• Assist with QA records where required
• Follow all site health and safety procedures at all times
