Aaron - Business Admin Apprentice with LifeBuild
Aaron Ottley, CoTrain Business Admin Apprentice hosted by LifeBuild, considers his apprenticeship as learning “skills he will use for life” : professional skill set as well as communicational and social.
“An apprenticeship is a different way of learning to the traditional college or university route. Doing an apprenticeship is a great way to earn money whilst learning,” – said Aaron.
Personal development is an important part of the apprentices’ journey as gaining professional skills. Aaron’s supervisor noticed “a massive change in Aaron since joining the project 10 months ago. He has really done himself proud and came out of his shell”. With real-life work experience comes real-life confidence, a valuable #SkillForLife.
Inspired by his positive experience, Aaron is eager to learn and, having seen that his supervisor purposefully exposed him to different areas, i.e. design, site management, quantity surveying.
This creates an incredible opportunity for Aaron to decide what route to take after this apprenticeship. Aaron was also featured in the following Newsletter for Woking council Transforming Sheerwater Summer 2022.pdf (woking.gov.uk).
Aaron dreams: “I would like to stay in construction something I really enjoyed was getting involved with drawings and design, so I would like to go into a higher-level apprenticeship and work way up to degree level in design”.
