News: BIM Lesson 17 : Be clear what version of software is needed

A key consideration when purchasing BIM software is not only the type of software but also the version.

Some BIM software packages will only open files created in the same version - there is no backwards compatibility between versions.

For example, a 2016 version of software may not open a file created in the 2014 version of the same software.  Set out the correct version to be used for the project in the BIM Execution Plan to avoid the purchase of the wrong version.  Read more
