Archie Giles - Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprentice with Wates

Apprenticeship can become an eye-opening experience with a lot of opportunities for young people.

Archie Giles, Level 2 property maintenance operative apprentice with Wates, joined CoTrain in September 2022. We are proud to announce he was awarded the ‘Apprentice of the year’ award for the Wates construction South supply chain 2022.

While working alongside different trades Archie was surprised how quickly he picked up each trade. He sees apprenticeship as a unique chance to explore different opportunities and choose his preferred path.

Archie dreams of becoming a fully qualified electrician one day. His interest was inspired by his brother and his uncle, and he hopes to have a business of his own in the future. He met a lot of young foremen on site showing him what he can achieve in the next 5 years. What an inspiration!

Archie likes the discipline the workplace requires and is proud to have a good work ethic. He is also impressed with how much goes into health & safety and he feels safe doing his job.
