The Government’s Industrial Strategy recognises the strategic importance of the construction industry. Ours was one of four sectors to receive further direct support through this Strategy. Peter was influential in the production of the Construction Sector Deal and he will explain what it is, how he thinks it can support the Transforming Construction Challenge, and how different parts of the industry can benefit from it.
As our sector starts to look forward to life beyond Brexit, improvement in sector productivity, acceleration of innovation, and increased sustainability are all needed to deliver better value for those in the sector and those who are clients of it. The Construction Sector Deal brings significant amounts of government investment, to be combined with new investment from within the sector.
Peter Bonfield was appointed Vice Chancellor of University of Westminster in early 2018 and as such he directs all university activities and developments. Prior to that he was Chief Executive of BRE Group, the culmination of a 25-year career at BRE.
